Small business websites in Tamil Nadu start from Rs. 15,000 with me. See what decides the price, what is included and which extra costs to expect.
A small business website in Tamil Nadu starts from Rs. 15,000 with me, and the final price depends on your requirements: the number of pages, custom or template design, features such as online ordering or payments, and the content you already have. A larger e-commerce store with a delivery system and admin panel costs more, and I give you a written quotation after a free first consultation.
I am Sivashankar, a freelance web developer and SEO specialist in Sathyamangalam, Erode. In 15+ years I have built websites for 100+ clients across Tamil Nadu. This guide shows what actually decides the price, what you get by default, which costs are not included in any quote, and how to compare quotations properly.
Quick answer: how much does a website cost?
| What you need | What decides the price | Price with me |
|---|---|---|
| Small business website | Pages, design level, content, features | Starts from Rs. 15,000 |
| E-commerce store | Products, payment gateway, delivery rules, admin panel | Quoted from your requirements |
| Booking or ordering system | Workflow, admin panel, notifications | Quoted from your requirements |
| Custom CRM or web application | Features, user roles, reports | Quoted from your requirements |
Prices are quoted after I understand your requirements. I am not registered under GST, so no GST is added to my invoices. I am MSME (Udyam) registered.
What decides the cost of a website?
Five factors decide almost every quote:
- Number and type of pages. A 5-page business site is a different job from a 40-page site with service pages, a blog and a gallery.
- Design approach. A customised template is faster. A fully custom design built around your brand takes more design time.
- Features. A contact form is simple. Online ordering, payment gateway, booking, customer login, delivery-area checks and an admin panel each add real development work.
- Content. Text, product photos and a logo must exist before launch. Writing content or arranging photography is extra work.
- Ongoing costs. The domain and hosting renew every year, and a site needs care after launch.
What do you get with every website I build?
Every website includes these by default, with no extra charge:
- Mobile-friendly design that works on phones, tablets and desktops.
- SSL certificate setup, so the site opens with the padlock. If your hosting does not bundle a free certificate, the certificate itself is a separate cost.
- Basic SEO: search-friendly page structure, page titles and descriptions, heading order, image optimisation, XML sitemap and robots.txt.
- Admin access and source files, so you own and can manage your website.
- Free support for up to 1 year after launch. There is no AMC and no yearly support fee.
What does the 1 year free support cover?
It covers bug fixes, functional issue resolution and basic technical help for the website I developed. It does not cover major new features, a complete redesign, or third-party costs such as hosting, domain and paid plugins. Those are quoted separately if you need them.
What goes into an e-commerce website quote?
An online store is the biggest driver of price among small business websites, because it needs more than pages. When I quote an e-commerce website, these are the parts I price:
- Product and category management from an admin panel, so you can add products yourself.
- Cart, checkout, customer accounts and order management.
- Payment gateway integration, such as Razorpay or Cashfree.
- Delivery rules, such as checking a customer's pincode before they order.
- WhatsApp enquiry buttons and order notifications.
- SEO setup: search-friendly URLs, product structured data and a sitemap.
- Support after launch, which I include free for up to 1 year.
Each part can be simple or advanced, which is why two online stores can have very different prices. The quotation I send lists every part, what is included and what is not, so you know exactly what you are paying for.
What costs are not included in a website quote?
Ask every developer about these. In my quotations they are listed separately, so nothing is a surprise:
- Domain name and hosting: both renew every year and are paid to the provider.
- Payment gateway charges: the gateway (Razorpay, Cashfree and others) charges its own transaction fees.
- Paid map, geocoding or API services, if your project uses them.
- SMS or OTP services.
- Professional product photography.
- Digital advertising or social media campaigns.
- Advanced third-party logistics integrations and paid plugins.
Why do website quotes vary so much?
Because the scope behind each price is different. Two quotes can look similar and still differ in design, features, content, SEO, support and who owns the source files. Compare the written scope, not only the total. A very low quote is not automatically bad, but check what is missing: mobile design, speed, basic SEO, admin and source access, and support after launch.
Freelancer or agency: which costs less?
A freelancer usually has lower overhead and you speak directly to the person building your site. An agency offers a larger team and formal processes. Either can be right. What matters is that you can see past work, you get a written scope and you know who supports the site after launch. You can see my work in my portfolio. How do I get an accurate quote for my business?
The first consultation is free, and I send a written quotation that states what is included, what is not, the timeline and the payment schedule. To get an accurate one, tell me:
- What your business does and who your customers are.
- How many pages or products you need.
- Whether you need online payments, booking, delivery checks or a customer login.
- Whether you already have a logo, photos and text.
- Websites you like, so the design direction is clear.
- When you need it live.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a small business website cost in Tamil Nadu?
With me, a small business website starts from Rs. 15,000. The final price depends on the number of pages, custom or template design, features such as online ordering, and the content you already have. You get a written quotation after a free first consultation.
Is the first consultation really free?
Yes. The first consultation is free and comes with a written quotation that lists the scope, inclusions, exclusions, timeline and payment schedule.
What does the price include?
Every website includes mobile-friendly design, SSL certificate setup, basic SEO, admin access, the source files and free support for up to 1 year after launch.
Do I have to pay every year after the website is built?
Only for the domain and hosting, which renew every year with the provider. I do not charge an AMC or a yearly support fee for the first year of support.
Is GST added to the price?
No. I am not registered under GST, so no GST is added to my invoices. I am MSME (Udyam) registered.
How much does an e-commerce website cost?
It depends on the number of products, the payment gateway, delivery rules and admin features, so I quote it from your requirements after a free first consultation. Payment gateway fees, domain and hosting are paid separately to the providers.
Can I start small and add features later?
Yes. A good build keeps room for growth, so you can add online payments, booking or a CRM later without rebuilding the site. New major features are quoted separately.
How long does it take to build a website?
It depends on the size and how quickly content and feedback come in. A simple business website is faster than an online store or a custom CRM, and delays in approvals or content can extend the timeline. I confirm the timeline in the quotation.
